Little hands, big money habits — design a playground, and learn to earn it.

Budget Boss
Kids earn, save, and budget to build their own dream playground.
Most kids meet money for the first time as a mystery. M.A.K.E. turns that first encounter into an adventure they remember — where every coin earned, saved, and spent is building something they're proud of.
THE PROBLEM
The most powerful financial tool a child has is time — and most have no idea.
By age 7
children's core money habits are already forming — long before formal lessons begin.
5–7
the window where hands-on, playful learning sticks best — concrete, not abstract.
1 in 3
primary teachers say money skills are missing from the early curriculum.
HOW IT WORKS
A simple loop, repeated until it becomes second nature: earn, choose, build.
💰
Earn
Students earn Kidz Cash through a playful classroom economy — money has to be worked for, not handed out.
🤔
Choose
Needs vs wants, value vs price — little builders practise the choices that make money last.
📐
Plan
They build a simple budget for their playground — deciding what they can afford, and what has to wait.
🎉
Build & Open
Designs come to life and are revealed at a Grand Opening — money skills turned into something real.
PROGRAM JOURNEY
Nine weeks, told in three acts.
1
What money is — and where it comes from
Through play, students discover needs vs wants, goods vs services, and the simple idea that money is earned. They get their first Kidz Cash and their very own wallet.
2
Earning, saving, and smart choices
Budget bosses run a classroom gig economy, weigh up costs, and learn that the cheapest choice isn't always the best — then turn it all into a real plan for their playground.
3
Market day and the Grand Opening
With a budget in hand, students "shop" for their playground pieces, bring their designs to life, and reveal them at a celebratory Grand Opening they funded themselves.
A teaser of the arc — the full week-by-week curriculum, characters, and classroom mechanics are shared with partner schools.
WHAT THEY'LL LEARN
Big ideas, made small enough for little builders.
01
The first, most important money judgement — practised, not lectured.
Tell a need from a want.
02
Money is worked for, set aside, and given a plan.
Earn, save, and budget.
03
Make value-based choices.
Compare, weigh up, and choose — beyond just "cheapest."
04
Create and present with pride.
Design something real and show it off with confidence.
WHAT YOU'LL SEE
By the Grand Opening, your little builders can…
Spot needs vs wants
And explain why — in their own words.
Handle their own money
Earn it, count it, save some, and spend on purpose.
Make a simple plan
Decide what they can afford and what has to wait.
Think before they buy
Pause, compare, and choose — not just grab.
Create something real
Turn a plan into a playground design they're proud of.
Present with confidence
Stand up and share their work at the Grand Opening.
